Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain, Zugspitze, on the border with Austria. The nearest airports are Innsbruck (60 km) and Munich (120km). The town was originally a famous health resort, but was really famous as Olympia city  in 1936 and World Cup  City. Here are the famous Kandahar downhill course and the Olympic ski jump.

In 80 years the place has been a popular destination for skiing enthusiasts from home and abroad. The record in Kandaharslope where the Super G and downhill run is 2 minutes, but skiers are allowed to take it calmly! What is called the Classic Garmisch ski area offers something for everyone. The area, which consists of Alpspitze, Hausberg and Kreuzeck has a very well-developed network of trails, with trails that are 2-5 km. long. Via Kreuzeckbanen you are in the ski area during the 7 minutes. Ad point is Cafebar Kandahar at the Valley station to Kreuzeckbanen. The ski area you will find cozy cottages where you can eat Bavarian specialties, while enjoying panoramic views. This must be experienced!

The town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located in the beautiful Alps. Here you have everything from international flair to the Bavarian tradition. Many of the houses in the city’s historic buildings, some dating from 1663! In the pedestrian zone you will find elegant shops and traditional art crafts. Overall the place has more than 400 shops, so a successful shopping spree is secured. The town has many discos, bars, clubs and over 100 retaurants which guarantees a variety of culinary experiences. If you want to try roulette, blackjack or so. we recommend the city’s casino, Bayerische Spielbank.

Do you fancy a sightseeing tour? We recommend an excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle or Castle Linderhof. Neuschwanstein is known as the “Disney Castle” and is incredibly beautiful in Füssen not far from Garmisch. That, and castles Linderhof was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most visited tourist destinations in southern Germany.

From 7 To 20 February 2011 determined who wins the World Cup in the alpine disciplines.

The alpine worldchampionship takes place precisely in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and we can promise you a fantastic experience! Come and take part in Championship circus and have a wonderful day! See the best skiers compete for victory in the downhill, Super G, slalom and giant slalom and combined. The atmosphere during such events is quite indescribable - it “would completely” and is a celebration without equal!
