This is a small, idyllic town situated at the lake called Wörthersee in Austria. Wörthersee and Velden are a 3 hours drive from Munich and 20 minutes from Klagenfurt. This is a summer destination in the middle of a winter land, - a bit of Mediterranean and Italian flair in the middle of Austria!

More international airlines fly to Klagenfurt. The town is also well known for its annual beach volleyball Grand Slam Tournament.

The area around Velden and the lake offers all kind of water sports, for example sailing, paragliding, water skiing and jet skiing. The hotels and restaurants are super! We recommend the Hotel Schloss Velden, one of the most venerable hotels in the area. Velden also has a big casino and a fantastic night life. A visit to “The American Bar” is a must! In town you will find a variety of shops suiting every valet.

Velden is absolutely worth a visit also in winter. The skiing areas of Bad Kleinkirchheim, Nassfeld, Gerlitzen, Mölltal, Heiligenblut and Katschberg are all withion a 50 minutes drive from Velden.
