Welcome to the most impressive art and museum city of Italy! Florence is situated in Tuscany in Northern Italy in the middle of the beautiful, Tuscan scenery. The river Arno runs through the fascinating town which is known for its exciting history, beautiful buildings and huge, impressive art museums. Many famous people are connected to Florence, for example Michelangelo, Boccaccio, Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo.

In the centre of the city you will find the famous Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. You just have to visit it! Close to the cathedral you will also find the eldest cultural monument of Florence, The Octagonal Baptistnerium. The city’s many art museums are very popular. Here are works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo among others. One should also pay a visit to the Santa Croce Church where the two famous artists are buried.

Florence invites you to relax and enjoy your impressions of the town! From Monday to Saturday 9 A.M. to 6.30 P.M. cars are not allowed in the main streets. Shopping in Florence is a real treat! The most famous shopping street is “Via del Tornabouni” in the Santa Maria Novella area.
